Night #5 of the pro late model series would pull into Cedar Lake on 5/8/23.
Alec Uber would set quick time in Qualifying with a lap of 13.353 followed by Shepard, Bowes, Thompson and Matthews Respectively.
With an invert in the heat Matthews would lead the charge forward while battling with Shepard for a heat race win. Matthews would ultimately take the checkered flag followed by Shepard, Uber, Bowes and Thompson.
Matthews and Shepard would race side by side for 5 laps before a bobble by Matthews opened the door and Shepard secured the lead. Nearing the halfway point a caution would come out seeing Matthews tail the field. Shepard would get a good jump on the restart but bobble in 3&4. Uber tried everything he could to grab the lead but couldn’t get the drive he needed. Shepard would roll the bottom en route to his second win on the season. Uber would finish second followed by Matthews who secured 3rd over Bowes and Thompson coming to the checkered flag.
The PLM will be in action on 5/13/23 at Williams Grove Speedway.
